GURU SADANAM BALAKRISHNAN

Sadanam P.V. Balakrishnan was born in 1944 in Chuzhali,Kannur District in North Kerela who showed a keen interest in Kathakali from a young age.He completed 8 years diploma in Sadanam and undertook the 2 years Post Diploma course under Central Govt. Scholarship,and earned First-class Honours.Sadanam Balakrishnan has been connected with severeal cultural institutions that seek him out as a teacher,conductor of workshops & lecture demonstrations as well principle artist in Kathakli performances.

He visited our VKV,Dibrugarh on 30th April,2012.The programme started at 10 AM & our Principal Sir introduced him & his team to everyone who were present there.Including Sadanam Balakrishnan six more performers came with him & our seven senior teachers felicitated them one by one with Phulam-Gamusa and Japi.Thereafter,they performed in our Assembly Hall infront of our students & teachers and showed the variety of acts in Kathakali.Our students enjoyed it very much & it made a profound impact in their minds.The programme ended at 11.15 AM.VKV,Dibrugarh would expect more such cultural & traditional programmes in the coming days.
