CAREER COUNSELLING PROGRAMME
A career counseling programme was organized by Dibrugarh Branch of The Institute of Chartered Accountant of India in our school at 11:30 a.m on 1st November 2014. It was first of its kind in the Dibrugarh district. The resource persons were CA Parvin Jain, CA Shailendra Sharma, CA Pranjal Goswami and Ca Ankit Varma. The students of class 11 and 12 of science and commerce attended the workshop. The programme ended at  1:30 p.m. The resource persons highlighted the necessity of choosing a career in life to be successful and Chartered Accountancy is a dynamic and promising for students not only for commerce students but even students from science background.

Performing by the Teachers
The Vidyalaya observed 14th November, Children’s Day amidst various colourful programmes. The programme started at 10:30 a.m. with Mangalachran. Students of class K.G performed an action song, followed by a speech by Sushmita Dasgupta of class V. A Bihu dance was performed by a group of young minds belonging to primary section of the Vidyalaya. A group of teachers presented a group song entitled ‘Asom amar rupohi’. A 
creative dance by the boys of class IV enthralled the audience. This was followed by another action song based on the most popular song ‘ Yug nirmata hum bache’. The Principal of the School, Shri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar, in his speech said how Nehruji propelled India towards technology and Scientific development and also referred about Bal Swachata Mission which was effected from 14th November, 2014 to 19th November, 2014 in the school. This was followed by a group song by girls of class IV, ‘Aai deu re’. The programme concluded with a group dance performed by the girls of IV and V.

The 150th Birth Centenary of Sahityarathi Lakhinath Bezbaruah

The 150th Birth Centenary of Sahityarathi Lakhinath Bezbaruah was organized by Sanskar Bharati on 18th November, 2014 in V.K.V Dibrugarh premises. Other schools participated in the celebration were Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Sampoorna Kendra Vidyalaya and Shankardev Shishu Niketan. The programme started with mangalacharan and lighting of diya by the principal of the school, Shri Ravindranath  D. Savdeykar. The programme was followed by songs performed by Students of Shankardev Shishu Niketan and Saraswati Shishu Mandir. A speech was delivered by Aniruddha Dutta. His speech mainly centered round the rich cultural heritage of our country. The programme concluded with Vote of Thanks by principal of the host school, Shri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar.  A total of 510 students,

teachers and well-wishers participated in the programme; S.KV (13), S.S.N (150), S.S.M (147) and V.K.V (200).

Rashtriya Ekta Divas 2014

Rashtriya Ekta Divas was celebrated in our school on 31st of October, 2014, on the occasion of  birth anniversary of SardarVallabhbhai Patel , The Iron Man of India. The motto of the programme was to foster national unity and integrity safety and security amongst all our children in the schooling years so that every child appreciates these values in their lives. To mark the celebration on Pan India basis, 350 centres were selected all over India and of the 12 centres of Assam, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh is the only centre in upper Assam. Along with Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Sampoorna Kendra Vidyalaya, Naliapool Bengali High School, NandeswarChakrabortyHigh School and Shree  Agrasen Academy participated actively. The programme started at 9:30 a.m and continued for five hours concluding at 2:30p.m.

The Chief Guest Dr. Shristidhar Dutta, Retired professor & Head of the Department of History; Dean and Faculty of Social Science , Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar flagged off  the ‘Run For Unity’. The main programme started  with mangalacharan. Address of welcome was by the Principal of the school, Sri  Ravindranath D. Savdeykar followed by the felicitation of the Chief Guest. A small cultural programme was organised  by the students participating school. The chief guest delivered the significance of the day Dr. Dutta focused on the importance of National Unity and the relevance of  SardarVallabhbhai Patel’s action and word in uniting the people of India. The National Unity Day Pledge was taken by all the students, teachers and parents.
The poster making competition
A Poster Making competition with the theme ‘Unity in Diversity’ and ‘Swach Bharat’ was organized. A Debate competition on topic ‘television and Movies influence kids more than their parents and teachers was also organized for students of classes 8 to 10. ShriAmbarishBhattachrarjee, Teacher, Marwari Hindi High School, Dibrugarh, and Teacher of Fine Arts, SaraswatiChitra Kala Niketan, Dibrugarh  acted as judge in Poster Making competition. Dr. RanjitSinha, Professor, Department of Political Science, Dibru College was the speaker in the debate competition. Renowned judges like Smt. AnjuBorkotoky, Subject Teacher, Department of English, Moran Higher Secondary School; Dr. Jaswant Singh, Professor, Department of Anthropology, Dibru College, Dibrugarh; Smt. Indrani Dasgupta, Professor, Department of Education, M.D.K. Girls College, Dibrugarh.  97 students participated in the poster making competition and 18 students participated in the debate competition.The participation of the students, irrespective of their boards was encouraging, which showed their enthusiasm and sends an important message of unity in sustaining any work. A total no. of 743 participants including staff, parents and well-wishers graced the celebration. The Principal of the school thanked all the participants for the success of the programme.
