International Yoga Day

On the occasion of 4th International Yoga
Day the students of VKV Dibrugarh celebrated the day with great zeal and
enthusiasm. A special assembly was organized to commemorate the occasion. The
students of our Vidyalaya gathered at the assembly hall at 7am. The programme
began with a yogic prayer in Sanskrit led by Sri Biren Saikia, Teacher, VKV
Dibrugarh followed by the various benefits of Yoga for school children were
enumerated along with demonstration by two students of Class X of various
asanas which are beneficial for students to overcome stress, anxiety and
improve concentration. These were performed in sync by the students and
teachers as well. The celebration concludes at 8 am with pranayam followed by
meditation by all the students. After which the Principal of our Vidyalaya
delivered a vote of thanks and urged the students to make Yoga a part of their
life and said that by making this small change in our lifestyle and creating
consciousness, would help in our well being, physically, mentally and
spiritually. A rousing rendition of three Omkaras culminates the celebration.
Later, refreshments were served to all the students and teachers who attended
the celebration. Regular classes were held thereafter.
