YOGOTSAV

Yoga is a spiritual discipline which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body, an art and science of healthy living.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, VKV, Dibrugarh celebrated YOGOTSAV from 20th June to 25th June, a 6-day Yoga Workshop in association with Marwari Yuva Manch (MYM), Dibrugarh.

Shri Subhash Agarwal, Patron, MYM, Dibrugarh inaugurated the programme on 20 June 2022.

House-wise Surya Namaskar competition was organised in which 4 teams of 13 students from each house participated. The competition was judged by yoga experts Smt. Lily Ghosh and Smt. Momi Das. The result of the competition is as follows:  -

1st Position – Bhogeshwari Phukanani House

2nd Position - Kushal Konwar House and Maniram Dewan House

3rd Position – Kanaklata Barua House

21st June 2022- On International Yoga Day a befitting programme was organised in the vidyalaya where over 350 students of class VI to XII participated. A yoga practice session was conducted as per the protocol given by the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), Govt. of India. Shri R. M. Thakre, Vice- Principal VKV Dibrugarh addressed the students on the importance of Yoga in daily life.

A group of 14 students of our vidyalaya gave Yoga demonstration in IYD programmes at different places in and around Dibrugarh town like ICMR at Lahowal, Lahowal College, Tengakhat College, Dibru College, Marwari Mahila Manch, Shantipara Yoga Centre etc. 

As part of YOGOTSAV training and competitions of Yogasana performance was organised for classes VI to X in which 269 students participated out of which 34 students got proficiency award and 59 students got efficiency award. 

The highlight of YOGOTSAV was a competition on performing 108 Surya Namaskars which was conducted on 24th June 2022 in which 60 students from class VI to X participated. Out of which 38 students aces 108 Surya Namaskars and were awarded ‘Suryaveer’ medal for their fabulous performance.

On 25th June 2022 in the concluding programme of YOGOTSAV, a group song ‘Yoga may jeevan hamara yoga may ho Vishwa sara’ was presented by the selected students of Class VI to VIII.

Welcome address was given by Shri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar, principal, VKV Dibrugarh. The programme was attended by Sri Binay Garodia, President, MYM Dibrugarh, Shri Ankush Kedia, Secretary MYM, Shri Rohan Jalan, Joint Secretary, Shri Mukesh Agrawal, Convenor, MYM Shri Sourabh Khemka, Convenor, MYM, Shri Subhash Agarwal, Patron, MYM.  A team of artistic students from our vidyalaya performed surya Namaskars and formed pyramidal and other formations with the help of Yogasanas. Smt. Narmada Jain, member, MYM, Dibrugarh spoke on the importance of Yoga.

Shri Binay Garodia, President and other dignitaries of MYM, Dibrugarh gave away prizes to the winners of various yoga competitions.

Marwadi Yuva Manch felicitated teachers of VKV Dibrugarh namely Shri Ashok Kr. Sahu, Shri Biren Saikia and Smt. Dimpi Gogoi for their tireless effort in conducting various competitions during YOGOTSAV. Shri Ashok Kumar Sahu gave the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with shantimantra followed by Kendra prarthna.
