NDRF’s
School Safety Programme
7th November, 2019
A safe and secure
environment is a pre requisite for effective teaching and learning. Thus, it is
necessary to ensure the safety of children, teachers and staff members in the
school during disasters.
NDRF
organises school safety programmes at various schools to sensitize the children
and staff about disasters and to minimize casualties and injuries during
disasters. A team from NDRF visited our Vidyalaya on 7th November,
2019 and conducted school safety programme.
During the
programme, students were made aware through lectures and demonstrations about
the need of school safety and earthquake safety measures to be taken before,
during and after, followed by demonstration and practice about medical first aid
like CPR, bleeding control, choking, carrying methods, improvised stretcher and
evacuation drill. After evacuation drill, an impressive demonstration on rescue
was carried out by NDRF responders. As a part of demonstration, hypothetical
scenarios of earthquake were created and the team carried out search of missing
and rescue of trapped victims. This exercise was witnessed by the students,
teachers and staff members of our Vidyalaya in the assembly hall.
NDRF is
committed to serve humanity and abide by its motto “Aapka Seva Sadaiv”. The
force is working simultaneously towards disaster resilience of the country by
imparting awareness training as well as capacity building programme to the
people for disaster risk reduction.
