International Yoga Day as proposed by our Prime Mnister Sri Narendra Modi is
celebrated all over the world. Since its inception in the year 2015, June 21st,
this day is celebrated in our Vidyalaya by the students and teachers with great
enthusiasm. 270 students from Class II to X participated in the programme
conducted by Sri Biren Saikia where he demonstrated various asanas and
pranayamas.
Warm up
exercises were demonstrated and all the students and few parents and teachers
performed sitting and standing asanas, importance of these asanas were
explained simultaneously.
The
celebration began with the Principal Sir’s speech at 7 am in the Vidyalaya
assembly hall where he spoke about the importance of Yoga in our day to day
life. He also stressed upon that Yoga is just not exercise but it is about
harmonizing oneself with the universe.
Regular
practice of Yoga will surely help our students achieve a better life
