National Youth Day Celebration

A
day long programme was organized on 12th January, 2020 to celebrate
Vivekananda Jayanti and National Youth Day. A pushpanjali programme was held in
the early hours at different places to mark the day. Teacher, students and many
well wishers attended the programme to pay respect to the great soul – Swami
Vivekananda. Principal,
Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar, delivered the welcome speech and felicitated the
chief guests. Dr. Sristidhar Dutta, retired DEAN Rajiv Gandhi University,
Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh and Su. Meera Kulkarni, Jeevanvrati Karyakarta,
Assam Pranth Sanghatak, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari were the chief guests.
Chief
Guest Su. Meera didi narrated the significance of the day. She expressed her
happiness over the fact that the school will complete its 40 years in 2021, and
has long been catering to the needs of the children of Northeast.
Dr.
Sristidhar Dutta also gave a speech in which he said that of all schools around
the city, VKV is unique in the sense that it has taught the students to face
difficult challenges living with the ideologies of Swami Vivekananda.
The
gamut of cultural programmes included Borgeet, Bharatnatyam, Group song and
Sattriya Nritya. A beautiful programme “Humara Bharat Samarth Bharat” was also
performed by the students which reflected the moral and cultural values of our
society. The celebration was attended by a crowd packed audience of students,
teachers, parents and well wishers.
