REPORT OF INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF ANNUAL SPORTS WEEK (2022-23)
3rd January, 2023
The inaugural ceremony of Annual Sports week began with the welcome of our Chief guest Subedar Uttam Kumar Subba, training incharge officer of 10 Assam Battalion NCC , Dibrugarh accompanied by senior assistant Junali Phukan.
The guest were escorted to the stage by respected Principal sir, Vice Principal sir and the school NCC cadets. The program started with mangalacharan followed by a welcome speech by our Principal sir.
The guests were felicitated by Vice Principal sir with fulam gamusa and a token of love. Then they were escorted by the Principal and Cadet Nikhit Saikia for the troop inspection followed by flag hoisting.
The program continued with March past where the students synchronised their swinging hands and thumping feet with the rhythm of the drumroll. The marching troops of the four houses namely Kushal Kuwar (red), Bhogeshwari Phukanani (orange), Kanaklata (pink) and Maniram Dewan (yellow) were led by the NCC cadets along with respective house captains as the commanders.
Then the oath taking ceremony was administered by Cadet Manash Singh where the house captains vowed to commit themselves to true spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.
Next, the audience soothed their ears with the melodious song composed by Dr. Bhupen Hazarika- ‘এই পৃথিৱী এক ক্ৰিড়াঙ্গন’ sung by our extremely talented students.
Then there was a power pack dance performance by our students depicting ‘unity in diversity’ clad in beautiful attires of the Indian states – Tamil Nadu, West Bengal , Rajasthan, Gujrat, Kashmir and Assam.
The chief guest then enlightened the gathering with his words of wisdom, also appreciated the splendid performance of the students and then declared the sports week begins.
Then the Olympic lamp was lit by the three best sports person of our school.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Mala Talukdar madam and the program concluded with Shanti path.
