78th Independence Day Celebration of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh
Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh celebrated 78th Independence Day, 2024 with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. Padma Shri Ma. Nivedita Didi, Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari was the Chief Guest of the occasion. After floral tributes to the patriots, she hoisted the tricolour. Cultural programmes by the students and teachers filled mind of audience with pride towards the nation. Addressing the students and the audience Ma. Nivedita Didi said that our country, ‘Bharat Varsh’ is an ancient country from the time immemorial. First mention of Bharat Varsha is in the ‘Rashta Sukta’ which is the part of Vedas. There is beautiful narration about the people of this country. It says Bharat Mata has many children who speak different languages, different types of costumes but they love each other. It clearly indicates that there is unity in diversity. Today technology has just brought us closer but there is doubt about others in the minds of people, among the nations. That is why by keeping everyone’s identity unaffected we can stay together. This philosophy is with only Bharat and we are living it. It is our duty to give this philosophy to the world. That is why students should keep a goal of life, to make our motherland great. She quoted the example of Sridhar Vembu, who is an Indian billionaire and the founder and CEO of Zoho Corporation. Sridhar Vembu is leading very simple life in a village of Tamilnadu and contributing towards IT education of village children. She also gave another example of Indian scientists who developed the Corona Vaccine due to which we not only saved the lives of the people of Bharat but also helped 110 countries to get vaccinated.
She concluded saying that the Concept of ONENESS is deeply embedded in our culture; by keeping in mind the sacrifices of our martyrs we should take pledge to contribute for making Bharat Great.
The school has also organised drawing and poster making competition for the students. Inclusion of various activities like band display made the entire programme a vibrant one.
