Inauguration of Annual Sports Week 

27th December, 2017 

Inauguration of Annual Sports, Session 2017 -2018 for high school and higher secondary was on 27th December, 2017. Chief Guest was guests Colonel Pravin Deori. 


The agenda covered welcoming the chief guests with band, formal introduction with the chanting of auspicious Mangalacharan, the Principal welcoming the guests and felicitating them, lightening of the sports torch by the best student of the year 2016-2017, Khampai Wangpan, inspection of Parade by the guest and guided by Principal, Flag hoisting, Oath taking followed by March Past from Classes VI to X. 


There were cultural programme in the inauguration which included with the performance of Yoga Demonstration with the highlighting “National Integrity” in attires of different states. The Chief Guest gave a speech to boost up the sporty spirit of the students during the sports week. The programme concluded with Vote of Thanks and Shanti Mantra. The sports week continued upto 30th December, 2017.

Awareness Programme on Eye Care 

21st December, 2017 



An Awareness Programme on Eye Care for the students of Class X was organized by Rotary Club, Dibrugarh on 21st December, 2017 in our Vidyalaya. Speaker Dr. Indira Neog, Eye Specialist, Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh interacted with the students. She discussed the Basic Anatomy of the Human eye, 15 tips to take care of the eye, common problems related to Eye – Cornea and Lens, Cataract, Myopia, Hypermetropia and Presbiopia, maintenance of health and hygiene of the eye etc. The interaction was very informative for the students. The programme ended with Shanti Mantra.

An interactive programme was organised for girl students of Classes VI to IX from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on 16th December, 2017 with Dr. Shobha Shiris Shah, renowned gynaecologist of Sholapur, Maharashtra. Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar, the Principal of the Vidyalaya gave the welcome address and Smt. Hironmoyee Das, Primary In-charge welcomed her with Phulam Gamusa. Thereafter, the programme was over by the guest. Dr. Shah who spoke on different aspects like – physical changes during adolescence menstruation, menstrual hygiene (useful tips), usefulness of healthy diet, problems of adolescence, personal development, physiological and psychological changes during adolescence, avoiding early pregnancy etc. The students also asked questions and cleared their doubts. The programme was very informative and it helped our students to know more the different merits and demerits of different bodily, psychological changes that take place to every girl at this age. The programme is expected to have a good impact on the students. The programme ended with Shanti Mantra.

Camp on Science Investigatory Project 

30th November to 4th December, 2017  

Aryabhata Anusandhanatmak Vijnan Prakalpa, Investigatory Science Project, 2017 organized by VKSPV, Guwahati for students of Class VII to IX and XI Science. Stage 1 – Screening Test (School Level) was held on 23rd November, 2017 from which few students were selected from the schools (VKV Dibrugarh, VKV Tingrai and VKV Bokuloni) to participate in the Stage – 2 (Science Investigatory Project Camp) which was organized at our Vidyalaya from 30th Nov to 4th Dec, 2017. Total 39 participants participated in the camp. Sri Deep Dutta, Sri Rahul Acharjee, Sri Pranjal Das, Kum. Lakhipriya Deori and Sri Biren Saikia were the resource persons. The topics discussed were Learning Scientific, Collection of project and classification skills, Analysis of experiments, Data Analysis etc. Concluding ceremony was on 4th December, 2017 where students of different schools shared their experience. Smt. Purva Savdeykar delivered valuable speech and advised how to present their PPT more accurately, she discussed about the methodology to make a PPT etc. After that Principal Sir in his thanking speech to all the students and teachers and with Shantimantra the camp ended at 1:45 pm.

Gita Chanting Competition 

30th November, 2017

Gita Chanting competition was conducted for the students of Classes VI to X on 30th November, 2017. All total 19 groups have participated. And the primary level competition was held on 2nd December, 2017 from Classes KG to V. Altogether 40 groups have participated in primary. Smt. Deepika Deori, Sevika, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sangsthan and Sri Bikash Upadhya, Asstt. Teacher, VKV Dibrugarh were the Judges for both the competition.

Visit of Mananeeya Balakrishnanji

23rd November, 2017 

On 23rd November, 2017, Mananeeya Balakrishnanji, Vice President, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, visited our Vidyalaya. The Principal of the Vidyalaya, Ravindranath D. Savdeykar gave the welcome address. Man. Balkrishnanji congratulated the teachers for their hardwork. Communicating with one another is very important. The performance of teacher, way of talking, interaction everything is watched by the students. Students mind is very sharp, whatever they perceive shape their character. Just like the role of mother of shaping and molding the  character of a child. The role of teachers is also important. The male teachers should also bear the motherly touch. Educational Technology is changing very fast and we have to equip ourselves with the change of time without losing the value. It will boost self confidence. Group discussion should take place among teachers. Best product is produced from our school itself. As Swamiji rightly ways education is manifestation that is already in man. Perfection is withinevery children that can be brought with proper guidance of the teacher. Character, Seva, future of nation everything is moulded in the classroom where role of teacher is very important.

Interaction with Kabyanil Talukdar 

18th November, 2017

                                       
An interactive programme was organized for VIII and IX on 18th November, 2017 in the Sanskriti Sabagriha from 1 pm and continued till 2 pm onwards with Master Kabyanil Talukdar, an Indian Cube Master. He is most famous for his achievements in blindfolded 3x3 events in World’s Rubik’s Cube Championship, 2015, VIT Velore Gravitas open – 3rd in 2x2 (2013). National Rank – 1st in blindfolded (2014), Asian Rank – 1st in blindfolded (2014), Hyderabad Pcubed open – 1st in blindfolded (2014) etc. and many more.
The Principal of the Vidyalaya welcomed him with a fulam gamusa as a token of love. Mst. Kabyanil Talukdar interacted with the students with enthusiasm and patience. He taught and involved the students and also told about the importance of solving cube puzzle. The students also asked question and cleared their doubts. The programme was very informative. It helped our students to know more about the importance of cube puzzle. The programme concluded with Shanti Mantra.

8th Krida Mahotsava 

9th to 16th November, 2017 


8th Krida Mahtsava was organized by VKSPV, Guwahati from 9th to 16th November, 2017. Outdoor games were played in VKV Baragolai where 23 Boys and 12 Girls altogether 35 students participated from our Vidyalaya and Indoor games were played in VKV Tingrai where 7 boys participated from our Vidyalaya.

In the Valedictory Programme of Krida Mahotsava at VKV Baragolai on 16th November, 2017, the teachers who have devoted their 25 years of service at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya were also honoured by the organization. 5 teachers of VKV Dibrugarh were also honoured for their service. Smt. Hironmoyee Das, Smt. Jaya Biswakarma, Smt. Sudipta Dam, Smt. Rajkumari Sharma and Smt. Ruplekha Bordoloi.

150th Sister Nivedita Birth Anniversary Celebration 
28th October 2017 

i)                    Sister Nivedita Jayanti was observed in the morning assembly. A student of Class X, Kum. Isha Nandini Kaman gave a speech highlighting the life and contribution to the society by Sister Nivedita. Elizabeth Margaret Noble better known as Sister Nivedita devoted her life for the service to Indian people under the influence of Swami Vivekananda. Students of the Vidyalaya performed two group songs “Maa ka Hriday” and “The mother’s heart” to remember her on the occasion of her 150th Birth Anniversary on 28th October 2017.
ii)                  Power Point Presentation competition on 150th Birth Anniversary of Sister Nivedita: The competition started with mangacharan and a brief introduction about Sisietr Nivedita was given at the beginning of the programme. Thereafter, the Power Point Presentations were on Sister Nivedita’s Tyag and Sewa, Sister Nivedita and Swami Vivekananda, Swami Vivekananda and education, Indian freedom movement and sister Nivedita etc. Students from Class IX and XI took part in the competition. The competition was judged by our respected teachers Smt. Hironmoyee Das, Smt. Rajkumari Sharma and Smt. Sanchita Mazumder. This was the 1st phase of the competition. The winners of the 1st phase will qualify for the 2nd phase at the VKSPV level. Students were motivated, instructed and guided about the criteria of the competition. Total no. of groups was 6. The slides were wonderful, attractive and carried lots of information within 12-15 slides. The groups who presented the power point presentation were asked questions by the other students and judges. At the end the judges gave feedback for more improvement to every team. The competition ended with Shantimantra.


iii)                A visit to Anandalaya Centre at Pothilibalm (Tiloi), Moranhat by the senior teachers of VKV Dibrugarh on account of 150th Birth Anniversary of Sister Nivedita to distribute clothes, woollen clothes, bedsheets, blankets and Biscuits to the children and their parents. Total 109 children along with their parents. The people were very much happy to receive the materials from our teachers. Even though maximum things were given but there were few things that were left out. Remaining things were handed over to Su. Binoti Didi and Sri Horen, Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra Aanandalaya, to distribute to some needy people of Pothalibalm Club. Smt. Hironmoyee Das, Smt. Jyotsna Devi, Smt. Niti Bhattacharjee and Smt. Manisha Gokhle Saikia were involved in this noble work on the auspicious occasion of Sister Nivedita Jayanti.

Mananeeya Vishwasji visit: Man. Vishwasji, Jeevanvrati Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra. After completing his education he responded positively on the call of Vivekananda Kendra as life worker. He was posted in north-eastern region in 1981. He worked as a teacher first and as Principal in VKV Tinsukia. He held the charge of secretary in Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. He almost spent 30 years in this region. In 2011 he was given responsibility of Maharashtra and Goa as Pranth Sanghatak to take care of various Vivekananda Kendra activities.

House Keeping Management 

12th to 14th October 2017

For the first time House Keeping Management workshop was organized by VKSPV at VKV Dibrugarh from 12th to 14th October 2017. It was a three day residential camp. 25 participants from different VKVs and Kendra attended the workshop. Su. Meera Kulkarni, Su. Kimaya Didi, Su. Reboti Didi Sri Surendra Kulkarni, Sri Kamalakant Sir, Smt. Pranami Goswami didi, Sri Vasant Barve, Smt. Meenakshi Barve and our Principal Sir, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar were the resource persons of the workshop. There were group discussions on how to keep proper cleanliness in the classrooms, guest rooms, personal quarters, campus etc., how to manage the Annapurna (Mess). The resource persons gave valuable advice and suggestion on cleanliness and its importance. On 14th October 2017 there were the concluding sessions where Smt. Kunjalata Deori was the Chief Guest. She said everyone is working in different place with different responsibility but the mission should be the same “Man making Nation building”.

Visit of Sri Santosh Takale 

7th October 2017 

 

An interactive programme with Sri Santosh Takale (B. Tech, Mechanical), Senior Scientist Officer, BAARC, Mumbai was organized for the students of Class VI to XII both Science and Commerce on 7th October 2017 in the school auditorium from 10 am onwards. 


He was the founder and advisory of Takale Charitable Trust. The Principal of the Vidyalaya welcome him with a fulam gamusa as a token of love. 



Sri Santosh Takale interacted with the students with enthusiasm and patience on understanding the Universe with Scientific Temperament that includes journey of science and scientists, origin of the universe i.e. the theory of Big Bang, origin of Solar System, Evolution of early man, astrology – non existence to existence, Andromeda galaxy and so on. The students also asked questions and cleared their doubts. The programme was very informative, helped our students to know more about universe. The programme ended with Shantimantra.

Celebration of Universal Brotherhood Day

Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated at Dibrugarh on 11th September 2017 under the aegis of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, Dibrugarh Branch, Vivekananda Kendra Aanandalaya – a team work of the Tea Gardeners, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Dibrugarh and Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Arunachal Pradesh Trust. 
The 125th Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated by mass participation in the Rally which was flagged off by the DC of Dibrugarh District, Smt. Laya Madduri. Major Abhijeet Deori, Indian Army, Ex-student of VKV Dibrugarh, Dr. Sristidhar Dutta, Vice Chancellor, Anniruddha College, Dr. Kunjalata Deori, former professor of Physics, DHSK College, Dibrugarh and other dignitaries, well wishers, parents was also present when the procession started. Almost 600 individuals participated in the rally wearing different traditional costumes of different states, different profession and different cultures, celebrating the theme of “Universal Brotherhood”.

A cultural evening was organised in the Dibrugarh District Library where the students of VKV Dibrugarh presented Borgeet, Sattriya Nritya, Yoga Demonstration, Bharatnatyam. Three other traditional programmes were also performed by the students of VK Anandalaya. Prize Distribution programme was also arranged for the students who participated in the Art, Speech and Patriotic Group Song Competitons on 10th September 2017 (Sunday) which was organised in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Dibrugarh. Students from different schools of Dibrugarh District participated in the competitions. A total number of 200 students participated and made the programme a great success.

Teachers Day Celebration
(5th September 2017) 

The birth date of the second President of India, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, 5 September 1888, has been celebrated as Teacher's Day since 1962. On this day, teachers and students report to school as usual but the usual activities and classes are replaced by activities of celebration, thanks and remembrance.
The birthday of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was celebrated also in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh in a befitting manner on 5th September 2017. Students were given the responsibility of holding the administration and its responsibilities for today. A student of Class 12 science acted as the Principal and a number of students from class 10, 11 and 12 acted as responsible teachers, conducting classes from primary to secondary. After the classes ended, the real teachers were felicitated for their contribution in the life of the students. Students expressed gratitude and homage to Lt. Dr. Radhakrishnan in the morning assembly through speeches made on his life and his contribution to Indian philosophy education system.

Every year all the Vidyalayas operating under Vivekananda Kendra observe the day in the same way. The idea behind is to develop and motivate children to the noble profession of teaching through which 'man-making and nation building is possible'.

An workshop Pariksha De Haste Haste is conducted for Class X students organized by Vivekananda Kendra Dibrugarh  where the students have participated actively. They are been taught how to build up confidence among own self, what are the positive wordings, how to develop the memory skills, how to grow concentration and many more. Resource person were Sri Santanu Deb, Vibhag Pramukh (Dibrugarh and Tinsukia) and Sri Ram Kripal, Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra. This workshop is beneficiary to the students. Total students participated 79.

Srimanta Shankardev Tithi (23rd August 2017)


Srimanta Shakardev tithi was celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm in the Vidyalaya premises on 23rd August 2017 in the presence of teachers, students, guardians and well wishers. Two students of Class VIII & IX anchored the programme. The brief programme staged a speec on the significance of the day by Kum. Manjeeta Baro, a student of Class IX. The programme also included a Borgeet performance by the students from Class VI to X and Diha Naam from Class II to V. A Bhaona (Prahaladar Charitra) was also performed by the students was based on the life of Bhakta Prahalad.  Total students - 200 and parents – 150 were present in the celebration. Dignitary present was Dr. Srithidhar Dutta, Holding the current Anniruddha Deva Chair of Dibrugarh University and Chairman, School Managing Committe, VKV, Dibrugarh.


Flood Relief Camp (22nd August 2017) 


A noble cause was attended on 22nd August 2017 by the representatives of VKV Dibrugarh to give flood relief to Etakholi Matak Paribarta Gaon (229 families) and Kolakhowa Singari Bali Gaon (121 families), District – Dibrugarh, Mouza – Lorua, Khanda No. 35 in the presence of Gaonbura. 


Students, parents and teachers of the Vidyalaya contributed with a liberal mind for the cause of the common people of Assam, especially Dibrugarh district who were affected severely by recent flood. 

The effort of the Vidyalaya could reach 350 families which were highly applauded by the local public of the village. Relief was provided in kind such as Clothes, Medicines, Food grains, Biscuits, Milk and Mineral Water Bottles.

Independence Day (15th August 2017) 
The programme started with floral tribute at Shahid Vedi followed by Mangacharan. Then respected Principal Sir along with Dr. Meenakshi Barve, Smt. Hironmoyee Das (Primary In-charge), Smt. Sanchita Mazumder and Sri Prasanta Kr. Nath unfurled the National Flag with the National anthem. After that, it was preceded by Principal Sir’s speech. Two group song presentation by Class II to V and Class IX. The programme ended with vote of thanks and Shantimantra.

Total no. of students present was 200, parents and well wishers 120 and staff 70.

Celebration of  Raksha Bandhan 
7th August, 2017


 Raksha Bandhan was celebrated on 7th August, 2017 on the Vidayalaya premise. Group song performance was followed by the significance of the day . Our Teachers emphasized on the importance of this day and its significance at the individual, family and national level.  



Teachers along with the students of the Vidyalaya visited several places with rakhis and sweets including Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh DC Office, CRPF Camp, Dibrugarh SP Office, AMC, BSNL Office, Banks,  NCC Office, Nursing Homes and also VK Dibrugarh and VKVAPT.

TEACHERS  ORIENTATION  CAMP FOR THE SENIOR TEACHERS & ADMINISTRATIVE HEADS OF VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYAS OF ASSAM & NAGALAND

Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag, the administrative body for the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas, conducted Teachers Orientation Camps at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh,  from 1 August to 3 August, 2017 for the Senior Teachers who have put in a minimum of 12 years of Service in this set-up. Altogether 60 brothers & 46 sisters ( Total : 106 )  participated in the Camp. 

 Mananeeya Pravin Dabholkar., Joint General Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, & Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag,  Guwahati, delivered a pre-inaugural speech  on “ Our role in Society as members of Vivekananada Kendra”.

The Ceremonial Lamp was lit by Sri Jiten Sharma, Academic Director, Axom Junior College, Margherita, and former Principal, Margherita College, Margherita, distinguished guest, along with Mananeeya Bhanudasji., General Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari.   Smt. Laya Madduri, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh District, was the Chief Guest, for the inaugural session for the Camp.

Mananeeya Bhanudasji took a session on ‘Bhagini Nivedita’s thoughts on Education’.  Dr. Pravat Kumar Dhal, Professor-In-Charge/Head/Dean Department of Education, Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, Bihar sessions were on ‘Art of Mentoring’, ‘Academics leadership role of Senior Teachers and of institutional heads’, ‘ Integral Education’, Active Learning Techniques.

A cultural show was put up by the  students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh. The Valedictory Programme, amidst the whole-hearted participation of the participants in the presence of Kendra Adhikaris & Karyakartas. The Chief Guest for the Programme was Dr. Sristhidhar Dutta., Chairman, School Managing Committe, VKV., Dibrugarh.  The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar, Principal & Shibir Pramukh of the TOC.

Celebrated by the NCC Cadets of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Dibrugarh. 

150 students participated in the programme with full enthusiasm. It became a successful programme.

On account of Bishnu Rabha Divas a Rabha Sangeet Competition was organized by the Vidyalaya among the students of Class VI to X. 

Students were divided into two groups, Class VI to VIII (Group A) and IX & X (Group B). 



The judges were Sri Jiten Kakoti, Radio Artist of Dibrugarh and Smt. Pranamika Bordoloi, Music Teacher of VKV Dibrugarh. No. of students participated were 16.

Visit of H.H.Maa Purnanandaji

Visit of H.H.Maa Purnanandaji 
(19th June, 2017)

A talk was held on “Goal of Education percentage or personality development?” by Her Holiness Maa Purnanandaji, Founder Chairperson – Sree Guru Swami Chinmayananda Sewa Nidhi.

It was organized for the students of Class XI and XII at Samsriti Sabhagriha of the Vidyalaya on 19th June, 2017. Swamini addressed the students on several issues like prayer, inner integration, peaceful living and human goodness etc. 
Swamini Purnandaji is closely inclined towards the study of Vadanta and her mission is to guide others on Ved and Vedanta, She is popular for her discourses on inner strength are commendable.
