Ganit Prajna Samvardhan, 2018 
(31st December, 2018)

 Ganit Prajna Samvardhan, an appreciation and exposure programme for promoting mathematics learning was organized in our Vidyalaya for the achievers of Ganit Prajna Pariksha held at VKSPV on 17th February, 2018. Principal, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar introduced and welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Gopal Ch. Hazarika, Professor of Mathematics Dept., Dibrugarh University. Out of 62 students from all VKVs, 21 students of VKV Dibrugarh were the achievers at VKSPV level. The qualified toppers were felicitated by the chief guest. Kum. Ankita Kumari (Class IX), Kr. Kaushik Dey (Class VIII) and Kum. Saanvi Sahu (Class VII) shared the experience of GPP. Parents, Sri Anil Kr. Tiwari and Smt. Angella Gogoi shared how important it was to conduct such exams in order to promote Mathematics learning in schools. They also expressed their happiness that such exams created interest for Maths in those who showed their aversion towards the subject earlier. Dr. Gopal Ch. Hazarika, chief guest, congratulated the toppers and appreciated their performance. Sri R. M. Thakre, Vice Principal ended with the Vote of Thanks followed by Shantimantra.

Gita Jnana Yajna Zone Level 
(23rd December, 2018)

 Zone Level Gita Chanting Competition, 2018 was conducted at VKV Dibrugarh organized by VKSPV, Guwahati on 23rd December, 2018. Sri Krishna Kumar ji, VKVAPT, Su. Rebati Didi, Joint Secretary, VKSPV, Ghy, Sri B. Kamalakant Sir, Domain Officer (Academic Co-ordinator), VKSPV, Guwahati and Su. Meera Didi, Assam Prant Sanghatak, VK Assam graced the programme with their presence. A total of 6 VKVs (VKV, NEEPCO, Bokuloni, VKV Baragolai, VKV Sadiya, VKV Tinsukia, VKV Tingrai, VKV Dibrugarh) participated in the competition. Competition was conducted group wise.  The Judges of the programme were Sri Krishna Kumar ji, Dr. Aditi Baruah, Professor, Dept. of Sanskrit, Dibru College and Smt. Modhumita Goswami Borthakur, HOD, Dept. of Sanskrit, Dibru College. Vice Principal, Sri R. M. Thakre, VKV Dibrugarh welcomed all the participants, teachers and invitees present. The judges were introduced and felicitated by our teachers Smt. Niti Bhattacharjee, Smt. Rita Dowerah and Smt. Pranamika Bordoloi. Su. Rebati Didi explained the importance of Gita in our daily life. Sri Krishna Kumar ji also explained the importance of Gita chanting and slokas with its meaning. Smt. Pranamika Bordoloi and Sri Biren Saikia, teacher, VKV Dibrugarh also chanted Gita slokas and explained their meaning to keep the spirit of the competition alive. The judge Dr. Aditi Baruah presented a Bhajan before the audience. Su. Meera Didi’s in her speech highlighted the importance of Gita and the use of it in students lives and also gave feedback and appreciation to the participants. The programme ended with the distribution of prizes to the winners by the judges and Vice Principals of our school.

Aryabhatta Anushandantamak Vijnan Prakalpa, 2018 
(21st and 22nd December, 2018) 

 The AAVP programme at VKV Dibrugarh cluster with the participation of 5 VKVs and 72 participants started their final presentation on 22nd December, 2018 in the presence of 6 judges of different science disciplines. The presentation was conducted at two levels - senior XI & XI and junior VI to VIII respectively. The inauguration programme was organized at the Vidyalaya’s Sanskriti Sabhagriha along with the 6 judges Dr. Anupal Baruah, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, Dibrugarh University, Sri Pranab Paul, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Botany, Dibru College, Dibrugarh, Sri Rajesh Shah, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Zoology, DHSK College, Dibrugarh, Sri Gouree Shankar Das, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Physics, Dibrugarh University, Dr. P.K. Saikia, Associate Professor, Dept. of Physics, Dibrugarh University, Dr. Dipankoj Gogoi, Associate Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, DHSK College, Dibrugarh, two mentors from Jnana Prabhodini Sri Abhijit Atmaram Kapre, Retd. Commander, Indian Navy, Presently Centre In-charge, Jnana Prabhodini and Sri Prashant Pandurang Divekar, Centre In-charge, Jnana Prabhodini, Sri B. Kamalakant, Domain Officer (Academic Co-ordinator), VKSPV, Guwahati and Sri B.M.Naidu, Director, SKV, Dibrugarh. In the Valedictory function on 22nd December, 2018, Dr. H. K. Das, Asst. Director, ICMR, Dibrugarh graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The two mentors of the programme from Jnana Prabhodini attended both the inaugural and valedictory function. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Divekarji motivated the students stating that activities and experiments like AAVP can model their lifelong mission. He also emphasized on a need based approach to work and make it relevant to the present society. The chief guests of the Valedictory function. Dr. H.K.Das asserted that the techniques used in modeling AAVP are same in higher level. He credited teachers and focused on the importance of motivation and positively to make such programmes successful.


Mahabhaskara Vijnan Pradarshani, 2018 
(21st and 22nd December, 2018) 

 With the idea to promote young scientists and to satisfy their hunger for knowledge, the 12 non science teaching Vidyalaya faculty and the 102 students joined hands to organize a Science and Mathematics Exhibition on 21st and 22nd December, 2018 where they presented concepts by “learning by doing”. It was held in the assembly hall of the Vidyalaya and was formally inaugurated by Dr. Jitu Buragohain, Principal, Dibru College, Dibrugarh. We began the day in good faith with our daily prayer where all the students and teachers joined together. Our Vice Principal, Sri R.M.Thakre and few teachers accompanied the Chief Guest to inspect the various Mathematics and Science Models exhibited by our students of Classes VI to IX. A total of 53 Science experiments and 120 Mathematics models were presented by the students. To enlist a few, there were working models of DC Fan, Magical Straw, Submarine and other Physics and Chemistry experiments and Mathematics models based on written works by team experts by Jnana Prabhodini. After all, it was a great day for the students of VKV Dibrugarh as they could showcase their skills, know and learn more about the wonders of Science and Mathematics. Vice Principal, Sri R.M.Thakre Sir welcomed the Chief Guest. In his welcome address, he highlighted the importance of holding such exhibitions for imbibing scientific temper among the students. He also mentioned that this was an event which offered an opportunity to our students to put into practice what they have learnt in classrooms. A group of students performed a geet which added to the fair. The Chief Guest, Dr. Jitu Buragohain spoke a few words of appreciation which encouraged the students. He also spoke of the lives of some great scientists and their works which motivated the students. Sri B. Kamalakant Sir, Domain Officer (Academic Co-ordinator), VKSPV, Guwahati and Dr. Kunjalata Deori, VMC Member, VKV Dibrugarh also graced the occasion by their presence and blessed the students. Finally, the welcome programme was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Kum. Megha Mordani, teacher, VKV Dibrugarh. On 22nd December, 2018, day 2 of the exhibition, parents and students from various schools visited the exhibition and made the event an overwhelming success.

Unbox Tinkering Workshop at VKV Dibrugarh 
(29th October to 2nd November, 2018) 

The training-workshop took place on 29th October - 2nd  November 2018 at the VKV Dibrugarh. The members of the training team were Sri Paresh Shinde ME Mechanical Design Engineer, Sri Pranav Pujari ME Microwave Engineer, Sri Prathamesh Vaidya Pursuing BE Mechanical and Sri Rajiv Natoo from Jnana Prabodhini Pune. From KPIT Mr. Tushar Juvekar CSR Head.

Activities were on Ice braking Activity, Electronics Workshop, Mechanical workshop, Advance Electronics workshop, Workshop Visit, 3D Printing workshop, App Development.
The training-workshop was attended by 16 schools of North East where 23 teachers participated.
The Objectives of the workshop were Creating awareness about ATL in north east of India, to inculcate basic skill set within ATL in charge, to create awareness about high as well as low end technologies, to locate and tinker local problems using available material.
Sessions were on Concept of Atal Tinkering lab, Design thinking etc, in which the basic objectives of ATL like critical thinking, creative problem solving, STEM approach, etc were discussed. Teachers were asked to make a prototype of a table which can be rectangular as well as circular and can be folded. They were divided into four group and made different models of the same. The Outcome of the Workshop were Concept of Atal Tinkering Lab was delivered, 80% teachers could identify problem in routine which could lead to a project in future, 85% teachers could do soldering individually, 80% teachers could design on thinker cad, 70% teachers could develop their own android app.

Srimanta Sankardev Tithi & Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration

11th September, 2018

A brief cultural programme was organized on the occasion of Srimanta Sankardev tithi & Universal Brotherhood day on 11th Sept, 2018 at VKV Dibrugarh. Smt. Rita Didi, a teacher of the Vidyalaya spoke on the significance of the day. Highlighting the role of Srimanta Sankardev, she said that Sri Sri Sankardev united people of different caste, creed and religion under the name of Eknam Ekhoron’. A brief naam was also organized. 


The Chicago speech was delivered by Kr. Ekalavya Saha of Class-VIII. Principal Sir spoke on the significance on Universal Brotherhood day. Highlighting his role as social enformer. The Principal said that Srimanta Sankardev wrote many religions book like “Kirtan Gokhona” and the creator of the famous art of drama called Bhaona.

Teachers Day Celebration
5th September, 2018

Teacher’s day was celebrated in VKV Dibrugarh on 05/09/2018. The programme was organized by class-XI students, classes were conducted by senior secondary students & class-X students of the Vidyalaya. Acting teachers successfully conducted the classes after which a cultural programme was conducted where teachers were felicitated by ALUMNI group of school and premises students. Alumni group led of alumni of 87’  Batch Sri Jiten Dutta shared with the students that learning the school was a sad experience and associating themselves with the school once again would give them a relining experience the old atmosphere. The principal shared with the students how each and every experience in the school world defines their identity outside the school in the long run.

Janmasthami Celebration
3rd September, 2018


A brief cultural programme was conducted in VKV Dibrugarh for Janmasthami or Gokulastami on 03/09/2018. Dr. Narayan Upadhyaya, former principal, AMC, Dibrugarh and. HOD of AMC (NEUROLOGY) dept. was present on the occasion as a chief guest. In his speech interestingly, Dr. Upadhyaya spoke on the significance and importance of gita chanting. He said the Gita’ and the messages in it are lessons of life for small children. He gave the example of Arjun who was taught the philosophy of life and its underlying value by lord Krishna. He encouraged practicing gita chanting by student’s every day, without any restrictions and rigidness.  He also addressed teacher for anger management of students by practicing the ideals highlighted in gita which anger is destructing & disillusionary. 




Krishna Bhajan , Sattriya Dance , Bharatnatyam were highlights of the programme. The anchor of the programme delivered vote of thanks on behalf of the school administration, thanking the chief guest, as well as parents for preparing the children in colorful dresses and making their presence encouraging for the children. Rangoli and Dahi Handi competition were the highlights of the programme.


Mathematics Workshop
3rd September, 2018


A Mathematics Workshop was conducted in VKV Dibrugarh for mathematics as an easy learning process. J.R Jyotirlingam Ji, Ramanujan Award winner was the Resourse Person. He conducted the workshop on how we can make mathematics as an interesting and joyful subject learning subject. He shared various easy techniques on how to do calculation a rally or by the use of our hand. He shrouds how multiplication can be done by using our figures. He also showed how can be prepare various magic square like even number magic square. Add number magic square, 3 by 3. Magic square etc. various types of magic squares and easy multiplication techniques ware highlight of the workshop. It was conducted with a motive to show how mathematics can be fun. The anchor of the programme delivered vote of thanks on behalf of the school administration, thanking the resource person, J.R. Jyotirlingam Ji for his valuable presence for encouraging our children and teacher. Class IX- X students attended.

OBSERVATION OF MADHAVDEV TITHI

Madhavdev Tithi – Celebration of Madhavdev Tithi in the school campus. Sri Sri Madhavdev was an important preceptor of Sankardev’s Ekasarana Dharma. He was the closet and most devoted disciple of Srimanta Shankardev and is best known as creator of Naam Ghoxa, as well as a large selection of Borgeets. Every year Madhavdev tithi is celebrated in VKV Dibrugarh and this year it was celebrated on 31st August, 2018. It started with a speech on the importance of the day by a student of class X, followed by a Borgeet group performance by the students of class VI to X. Also, for the primary section, a speech on the significance of the day was given by Rita Dowerah didi, followed by a Borgeet performance by the students. The celebration glorified this great personality of our state.

MONTHLLY TALK SERIES
30th August, 2018


Monthly Talk Series was organized by Vivekananda Kendra, Dibrugrh Branch on 30th August, 2018 at VKV Dibrugarh. Speaker of the programme was Mananeeya Bhanudasji, All India General Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari. His discussion on the topic was – Swamiji’s vision and Eknathji’s mission. Teachers, parents, VKVAPT officials and well wishers attended the programme.
Kendra Varga was specially conducted in the presence of Bhanuji. Participants of the Kendra Varga introduced themselves followed by a small game conducted by Su. Meera Didi. It concluded with Bhanuji’s address – whose matribhumi is India are really fortunate before Swami Vivekananda who was from our motherland thought that we can lead the whole world for a change was possible not through science and technology but through spiritualism which can be realised in all of us through the realisation of “sewa” for our fellow human beings. He encouraged all to have “bhaktibhao and sevabhao”. The programme ended with small interactive session where participants thanked Bhanuji for visiting Dibrugarh and inspiring all to work together for Vivekananda Kendra.


National Sports Day celebration at Dibrugarh University Campus on 29/8/2018

Centre for Studies in Physical education and Sports, Dibrugarh University organized Sports Competition in Athletices and Minor Recreational Game among the school children of Dibrugarh City on 29th August, 2018 on the National Sports Day as an occasion of the birthday of the Legend Major Dhyan Chand the World Fame Wizard of Hockey in the University Campus at new playground. Students of VKV Dibrugarh participated in the sports. 2 boys and 2 girls in under 14 and 2 boys and 1 girl in under 16. Students bagged – Gold – 5 nos., Silver – 4 nos. and Bronze – 1 no.

Measles and Rubella Vaccination Campaign
27th August, 2018


Measles and Rubella Vaccination Campaign was organised by Health and Family Welfare Development, Govt. Of Assam, in VKV Dibrugarh on 27th August, 2018 under the guidance of ANM, Dipali Neog , Dibrugarh region. The Vidyalaya provided the required infrastructure for the camp and arranged for spacious vaccination room. A total number of 521 students’ up to the age of 15 years right from Class KG to IX benefited from the camp. The students were vaccinated with the consent of their parents in the presence of their respective class teacher and were kept under observation for a short period of time. The aim of the Measles and Rubella camp drive is to eliminate measles and control Congenital Rubella Syndrome in the country by the year 2020.



Celebration of Raksha Bandhan
27th August 2018

VKV Dibrugarh celebrated Raksha Bandhan on 27th August, 2018 on the Vidayalaya premise. The programme was observed in the Morning assembly. Our teacher, Smt. Rajkumari Sharma gave a speech on the importance and significance on Raksha Bandhan. 

The students were explained the importance of the festival which strengthens the ties between brother and sister followed by a “Krishna Bhajan”. To mark the occasion students were assembled in the Sanskriti Sabhagriha where the students tied rakhi on each other’s wrist and exhibited the sacred bond between brother and sister. Sweets were also distributed. 

Teachers along with the students of Class IX visited several places with rakhis and sweets including Dibrugarh DC Office, Post Office, Dibrugarh SP Office, Shankardev Hospital, Dibrugarh Sadar Thana.

Independence Day Celebration
15th August, 2018


The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated in the Vidyalaya with mirth and gaiety. Every year on 15th August we celebrate our freedom. As we celebrate independence, we also celebrate the rich Indian culture and tradition. 65 Staff along with 393 Students from Class KG to XII and 253 parents attended the tri-colour hoisting. Smt. Pranoti Roy, RAO, VKSPV, Ghy and Principal, VKV Baragolai was the guest of the programme. She unfurled the tri-colour at 8am in the presence of the Vice Principals, Sri R.M.Thakre and Sri Shasanka Roy. 


Smt. Pranoti didi in her speech highlighted the contribution of the martyrs of the past and asked the present generation, our students to contribute in man - making nation – building in the future, following ideals of Swami Vivekananda. 

Vice Principal, Sri R. M. Thakre in his speech urged the students to value the freedom as we have secured it after the sacrifices of many. A team of Maruti Suzuki NEXA, Dibrugarh Branch participated and contributed in the celebration. The showroom Manager of Maruti Suzuki Nexa, Dibrugarh, talking to one of the teacher in the Vidyalaya said that the objective behind joining the Independence Day celebration with VKV Dibrugarh is that it is the only school of the locality which has maintained to nurture nationalistic values in the face of materialistic culture. 
The Vice Principal, Shasanka Sir thanked the parents for their encouraging presence.
Various competitions such as Art, Speech, Slogan, Debate and Essay writing are organized at different levels for the students of primary, secondary and senior secondary. 
A house wise Kabaddi Competition was also organized for the students. A friendly Football match was also played between the staff and the students.

A session was conducted by ICICI Prudential to the teachers on “Financial Literacy on Mutual Fund”. Sri Santanu Kumar Dowerah, Branch Manager, ICICI Prudential and Sri Abhijit Chaliha, IFA, ICICI Prudential, Mutual Fund were the Chief Guest. They explained to the teachers where to invest, about savings etc. 47 teachers attended the session.

 Felicitation programme was organized for Class X and XII achievers of the 2017-2018. Dr. Sristidhar Dutta, Retd. Prof. & HOD of History, Dean & Faculty of Social Science, Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar and Chairman, VMC and Dr. Siddhartha Sharma, Senior Manager of Tea Garden, J. Thomas & Company and member of the school Managing Committee graced the occasion as guests. They highly apologised the contribution of the school, the teachers and the Principal for the excellent results of the school. International Yoga Day

Dates : 21st June, 2018

On the occasion of 4th International Yoga Day the students of VKV Dibrugarh celebrated the day with great zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly was organized to commemorate the occasion. The students of our Vidyalaya gathered at the assembly hall at 7am. The programme began with a yogic prayer in Sanskrit led by Sri Biren Saikia, Teacher, VKV Dibrugarh followed by the various benefits of Yoga for school children were enumerated along with demonstration by two students of Class X of various asanas which are beneficial for students to overcome stress, anxiety and improve concentration. These were performed in sync by the students and teachers as well. The celebration concludes at 8 am with pranayam followed by meditation by all the students. After which the Principal of our Vidyalaya delivered a vote of thanks and urged the students to make Yoga a part of their life and said that by making this small change in our lifestyle and creating consciousness, would help in our well being, physically, mentally and spiritually. A rousing rendition of three Omkaras culminates the celebration. Later, refreshments were served to all the students and teachers who attended the celebration. Regular classes were held thereafter.

Bishnu Rabha Divas

Dates:  20-06-2018

The 20th June is devoted in the name of the martyr and artist Bishnu Prasad Rabha. The day is celebrated as Bishnu Rabha Divas and is celebrated across the state remembering the great man, while the day was observed at VKV Dibrugarh and the event took place in the Sanskriti Sabha Griha in two halves from 10:30 to 12 noon (Junior Group – Classes VI to VIII) and from 12 noon to 2 pm (Senior Group – Classes IX & X). 


The programme started with the welcoming of the Chief Guest cum judge Sri Jiten Kakoti, Radio Artist, AIR Dibrugarh and the lighting of lamp by our Principal Sir and Vice Principal Sir. While lighting the lamp, our Vice Principal Sir, Sri Rambhao Thakre spoke on the importance of the day and said that the Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha was himself an institution who was a versatile genius as well as an expert in politics, sports, architecture, acting, dancing & writing. He added that Bishnu Prasad Rabha was a good politician and great social reformer also.


The programme was attended by the teachers and students of Class VI to X where a cultural extravaganza was held in which attended a total number of students 32 participants, 8 from each house. They performed Rabha Sangeet and were judged by the Chief Guest on the same. After the performances were over, the judge gave feedback on their performance. The programme concluded with a song by our teacher Smt. Pranamika Bordoloi. The prizes were distributed on 22nd June, 2018 in the Morning Assembly.

Gata Pramukh Shibir

Dates : 08-06-2018 & 09-06-2018

Two days residential Gata Pramukh Shibir was conducted at VKV Dibrugarh on 8th & 9th June, 2018. 20 students were selected from the Class VI PDC Camp. Training on Bhajans, Yoga etc. were given to the students for conducting sanskar varga in their nearby places. The Principal, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar took session on relation between thought and actions, positive thoughts influence our actions, importance of positive thought and concentration is the key of knowledge. Sri Biren Saikia, teacher, VKV Dibrugarh explained the students, the importance of Sanskar Varga, how it helps to develop self confidence, how to be punctuate etc.
Two more Sanskar Varga has been planned in Chowkidinghee Railway Colony and Dibrugarh University by 6 newly selected gata pramukhs from Class VI.

World Environment Day : 5th June, 2018

On 5th June, 2018, World Environment Day was celebrated in VKV Dibrugarh. The event lasted for about 2 hours from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and was held in the Sanskriti Sabagriha of our Vidyalaya. In the celebration students of Class VII & VIII participated.                                                     

The celebration commenced by the arrival of the students, teachers, Principal and Vice Principal. Guests from Bharat Vikas Parishad arrived with their team of 4 members. 



There was a colourful welcome followed by lightning of the lamp. It was accompanied by a melodious song by the students of Class VIII. It was followed by a welcome speech given by the Principal, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar. There was Gamusa presentation to the invited guests and the celebration began. Various activities such as planting saplings and discussion on environment and surroundings.

A talk on the current year’s World Environment Day theme “Beating Plastic Pollution” along with a Power Point Presentation and an educational video on how to manage plastic waste was given to the students by our teacher Kum. Megha Mordani.

One of the guest from the team inspired our students to work collectively for the protection of earth and emphasized on the need to build a greener world. He also encouraged the students to reuse and recycle plastic lying in our house by making useful items out of them and demonstrated the same using plastic bottles, polythene bags etc.

This was followed by a speech by our Vice Principal Sir on environment sustainability and how to tackle the problem of pollution. A group of students performed a skit on pollution control which was followed by the recitation of poem “Moi Plastic” by teacher Kum. Lakhipriya Deori and a formal vote of thanks by the Principal and the event concluded.
The crowd dispersed with a sincere hope and motivated to contribute towards the protection of the environment.
