Gita Jayanti

Gita Jayanti is the Utsava, we celebrate mainly to invigorate ourselves by living deep into our scriptures. Gita is like a Guru who guides us for achieving the goal of life. Gita is also the scriptural form of our dear motherland as she tells all that which this land of ours is manifesting in her national life. Samarth Bharat Parv & Geeta  Jayanti  has been observed on 25th December, 2020 in VKV Dibrugarh  and discourse on Bhagvat Geeta by Swamiji Radheshyam Das, ISKON, Dibrugarh branch.

Thus the celebration of the Gita Jayanti became a part of Samartha Bharat Parva. And it was observed on 27th December, 2020 (Sunday) as form of “Kutumba Sammelan” for KG students and their family through Google Meet at 6:00 pm with total no. of
26 participants.
Shasanka Sir, Vice Principal, VKV Dibrugarh, gave welcome speech and introduction of the Chief Guest of Mananeeya Rekha Didi, Joint General Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari. Didi spoke on “Ktumba Sammelan” and its value in Indian culture. She emphasised on the role of mother in shaping her children. Taking examples from our mythological epic, she shared how Sri Krishna motivated Arjuna in the battle of Mahabharata. She also emphasized how in every house there should be the practice of reading Gita. Those children should be made to learn Gita Shloka from tender age only. Gita is the only book which will help you in your day to day problems, So everyone of us must read Gita to lead a purposeful life. We must read Gita, Mahabharata, Ramayana, Upanishad’s shloka’s and try to by heart them. All the family members of the house should sit together and chant Sanskrit slokas, which will help us in strengthening our memory. The programme also included introduction of family members of KG students, Bhajan by Kum. Trishna Dutta, Class VIII and Sanskrit song by Kum. Trishita Kaushik, Class XI Science. Quiz Competition on Gita also a part of the programme conducted by Sri Manik Sir and Sri Raghunath Hajong. The programme ended with Shantimantra.

Kendra Varga was organized on 12th December, 2020 for the teachers of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Dibrugarh. 35 teachers attended the same in the Vidyalaya playground. It began with three Omkaras and Bhadrang Karnevi. All the teachers and they all performed yoga asanas and warm up exercises together.

A number game was played which helps in improving concentration. Group discussion on Pancha Prerana Strota which was followed by margadarshan by Man. Pravinji, Secretary, Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag, Guwahati. It was a bright winter morning and all the teachers participated in it with great zeal after so many months of lockdown due to the ongoing pandemic.

It ended with Kendra Prarthna.

Prize Distribution Ceremony of Satriya Vibhag Level Online Competition, 2020-21
 
The prize distribution ceremony of the Satriya Vibhag Level Online Competition held on 27/09/2020 through the online mode was organized by the school on 02/12/2020 physically at 12 noon in the Vidyalaya Sanskriti Sabhagriha in the presence of several judges, winners, parents and the staff of the school. A small cultural programme was organised to fit to the pulse of the programme where Dr Aditi Baruah, H.O.D Sanskrit dept., Dibru College sang a beautiful Borgeet and entertained the audience. The Chief Guest, Sri Arun Haxarika, Professor, Bhupen Hazarika Center of Performing Arts, Shri Manik Borbayan Adhyapak Tinsukia, Smt Ruprekha Bordoloi, Lecturer, Bhupen Hazarika Center of Performing Arts, Smt  Dipti Baruah, Tengakhat Kala Kendra, Dr. Adity  Baruah attended the programme. The chief of the programme eluded the Satriya performance of the students of the Vidyalaya. winners took off their prizes home with perfect smiles during the lockdown. The participants schools in the competition were VKV Dibrugarh, VKV Tinsukia, VKV Tingrai, VKV Bokuloni, VKV Borogolai.

Lachit Divas

Lachit Divas was observed in the school on 24/11/2020 in a befitting manner in the morning assembly in the presence of a good number of students and staff amidst the ongoing pandemic situation. A patriotic song was performed by the students group of the Vidyalaya followed by a poem recitation by a student highlighting the values of patriotism and love for nation. Smt. Jyotsna Didi, a senior teacher gave a befitting speech highlighting the significance of the day and role of Veer Lachit in the glorious history of Assam and India.

Sadhana Divas

Sadhana Divas was observed in the school assembly on 19/11/2020 in the presence of the Vice-Principals and teachers and a good number of students at VKV Dibrugarh. Sri Brien Saikia, teacher of this Vidyalaya took the lead. He gave a small introduction of Man. Eknathji followed by a group song 'Nandana Abhinanda' and a speech on the significance of the day.

71st Republic Day
26th January, 2020


Republic Day is one of the prominent national festivals celebrated every year on January 26th with utmost enthusiasm and zeal at VKV Dibrugarh.

The school band escorted Principal Sir, Vice Principal sirs and senior teachers of the Vidyalaya to the ground where Principal sir, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar unfurled the tricolour amidst a cheerful and proud crowd of teachers, students and parents.
Everyone saluted the National Flag, sung the National anthem and pledged themselves to upholding the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is “INDIA”.
Principal Sir in his speech spoke about the significance of the day and said that one must follow truth seeking approach. Whatever one’s problem or situation be, we need to try to seek truth, according to Swamiji. We should all join hands together to become one, together we make a family, families make up a society and societies together make up the whole country. We should be proud of our constitution and try to understand how our system is formed and how we have become the biggest democracy in the world. After the valuable speech the choir presented a patriotic song which reverberated the surroundings.
The celebration concluded with Shanti Mantra and everyone dispersed after Prasad with the image of the fluttering tricolour in their minds.

Zonal Level Gita Chanting Competition

25th January, 2020

Zonal Level Gita Chanting competition was held at VKV Dibrugarh on 25th January, 2020 in the Sanskriti Sabhagriha. The hall was filled with participants from 7 schools namely, VKV Dhemaji, VKV Sadiya, VKV Baragolai, VKV Tinsukia, VKV Bokuloni, VKV Tingrai and VKV Dibrugarh. Sri Biren Saikia, Teacher, VKV Dibrugarh greeted everyone. The Principal, Dri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar  acknowledged that he believed the students have made their efforts and have come prepared thoroughly for the competition and wished them good luck. He also shared his thought that he felt that not only the participants but also the teachers should also know the mantras of Gita chanting. After the welcome address the competition began wherein a total number of 21 students participated from among 7 schools. 



The judges of the competition were Dr. Adity Baruah, Sanskrit Dept., Dibru College, Smt. Madhumita Borthakur Goswami, Sanskrit Dept., Dibru College and Sri Babu Nayak, Teacher of Dibrugarh Branch Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi. After the competition one of the judges Smt. Madhumita Borthakur Goswami addressed the participants and the audience. She appreciated the student’s efforts and also congratulated all of them. She especially acknowledged the commendable effort of the two participants who chanted 47 slokas. Prize distribution ceremony took place thereafter. Kum. Aaradhya Sharma of Class IV B of our Vidyalaya won the Proficiency Prize. The participants left the audience mesmerized.

AAVP Cluster Level Workshop

18th & 19th January, 2020


Cluster level competition of Aryabhatta Anusandhanatmak Vijnan Prakalpa, 2019 - 20, a two day programme was held at VKV Dibrugarh on 18thand 19thJanuary, 2020. A total of 22 senior and 35 junior level students along with 5 escort teachers who registered for the programme from 5 Vidyalayas namely, VKV Dhemaji, VKV Golaghat, VKV Majuli, VKV Sivasagar and VKV Dibrugarh. In our cluster there were 13 projects. 



The presentation competition took place parallel in the two levels (Junior & Senior) and each level was judged by 4 judges. The judges were Dr. Ankur Gogoi, Quality Control Officer, Chemistry Dept., ONGC, Assam Asset, Sri Pranab Paul, Asst. Professor, Dept. Of Botany, Dibru College, Dibrugarh, Dr. Kalyan Jyoti Deori and Dr. Jiban Saikia, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, Dibrugarh University. 
 
Valedictory programme was held where Prof. R. N.S. Yadav, Dept. of Life Sciences, Dibrugarh University was the Chief Guest. Overall the programme was a success and the participants returned with much motivation and encouragement.

Vivekananda Jayanti & 
National Youth Day Celebration
12th January, 2020

A day long programme was organized on 12th January, 2020 to celebrate Vivekananda Jayanti and National Youth Day. A pushpanjali programme was held in the early hours at different places to mark the day. Teacher, students and many well wishers attended the programme to pay respect to the great soul – Swami Vivekananda. Principal, Sri Ravindranath D. Savdeykar, delivered the welcome speech and felicitated the chief guests. Dr. Sristidhar Dutta, retired DEAN Rajiv Gandhi University, Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh and Su. Meera Kulkarni, Jeevanvrati Karyakarta, Assam Pranth Sanghatak, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari were the chief guests.
Chief Guest Su. Meera didi narrated the significance of the day. She expressed her happiness over the fact that the school will complete its 40 years in 2021, and has long been catering to the needs of the children of Northeast.

   
Dr. Sristidhar Dutta also gave a speech in which he said that of all schools around the city, VKV is unique in the sense that it has taught the students to face difficult challenges living with the ideologies of Swami Vivekananda. 



The gamut of cultural programmes included Borgeet, Bharatnatyam, Group song and Sattriya Nritya. A beautiful programme “Humara Bharat Samarth Bharat” was also performed by the students which reflected the moral and cultural values of our society. The celebration was attended by a crowd packed audience of students, teachers, parents and well wishers.
